Pikes Peak Greenway Trail

1/8/2016

This beautiful 16 mile trail in Colorado Springs parallels Monument and Fountain Creeks and winds through and alongside parks, like Monument Valley Park, and sports complexes. It connects with other trails, such as the Midland Trail, Bear Creek Trail and Templeton Gap Trail. Pine Creek Reach, north of Woodman Road, is the northern-most point on the trail. Sand Creek Reach at the El Pomar Youth Sports Complex, south of Circle Drive, is the southern-most point on the trail. It is classified as an easy trail. The estimated cycling time is 1.25 hours, without stops.  Criterium Bike Shop criterium.com is located along the trail at 6150 Corporate Drive for any needed bike repairs. They also have bikes for rent by the day if you left yours at home. If you're looking for a place to park and hike or bike the trail, the good folks at Crestwood Suites, right next door to Criterium Bike shop, will let you park in their lot for the day at no charge and use their ramp that provides direct access to the trail. Just stop in and let them know you are parking on their lot for the day and tell them you heard about them on the Discover COS facebook page and discoverCOS.com website.
