The 84.7 million U.S.-based travelers and nearly one million international visitors also generated a total of $1.28 billion in state and local tax revenues, studies found, marking the eighth consecutive year of record-setting growth. Among the first questions visitors ask are for suggestions on the best local places to eat and shop. They also want tips on what to see and do while they're in the area.
