Paint The Town This Weekend

5/24/2019

Just a short drive (35 miles) east of Colorado Springs on Highway 24 you’ll find Paint Mines Interpretive Park. We recommend driving to the second entrance if you don’t want to have to walk far to the overlook. From there you can access the mines quickly with trails that will take you down into and through the unusual rock formations. For members of your party that prefer to wait at the top there is a picnic table right along the edge with fantastic views. Wild flowers are beginning to bloom and there was plenty of wildlife spotted during our visit, including a snake stretched out on the gravel road soaking up some long awaited sun rays. Plenty of photo ops and sure to please the outdoor adventure enthusiasts in your party who love to explore.
