I must admit since this was my first time at this event I was skeptical if there would be many people there, especially with the way the weather has been the last week. Was I ever wrong! It ended up being pretty nice outside in Manitou Springs and there was a great turn-out! It seemed the whole town was in on the celebration, and the only cost was to buy tickets for gumbo samples, which were only $1 each for two samples. I quickly found a parking spot along the main street and made my way to the park. There were quite a few vendors, including several local Cajun restaurants represented. I found some new ones to try and also stopped in to say hello to the fine folks at Momma Pearl's, who we've recently reviewed on this blog. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and the crowd was well behaved. Kudo's to the Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce who did a fine job organizing this event.
