Tonight I decided to drop by one of my favorite pizza places, the Roman Villa. The line had already started forming when I arrived at a quarter 'til five. Precisely at 5:00 PM, the door was opened and we were greeted with a warm smile and hello by a third-generation family member and owner of this fine Italian restaurant established in 1959. Soon the restaurant was completely full. Many were regulars who did not even require a menu but already had their favorite dish in mind. After seeing some of the plates going by I've decided I simply must try some of the other menu items next time. The house salad is awesome, and that feeling was echoed by those sitting at the table next to me. The pizza was great as usual, and I topped my meal off this time with a tasty piece of cheesecake for dessert. I even had half a pizza to take home for later. Some menu items offer small or large plate options with prices ranging from about $8 - $12 and include salad and bread. If you haven't been to the Roman Villa, here are a couple of things to remember. First, they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Second, they are only open from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday. Third, get there early or you may have to wait to be seated. Finally, if you don't get there early enough to park in the front of the restaurant, you'll have to take the drive immediately to the left of the building and park in the lot in back. Don't settle for Ho-hum. Get out and enjoy some great local favorites. And when you go, please remember to let them know you heard about them on the Discover COS Facebook page and DiscoverCOS.com.
