Enjoyed a matinee viewing of the movie Stan & Ollie at this historic theater downtown this afternoon. Not a movie the kiddos would enjoy, but anyone who grew up watching the comedy team of Laurel and Hardy at some point in their life will appreciate it for what it is and while I walked in a couple of minutes after the film started, I don’t recall seeing or hearing anything offensive in any way during the portion of the movie I saw. That in itself was very refreshing, not to mention the buttery popcorn and drinks. Discover more...

These awesome looking cinnamon rolls were staring me directly in the face this morning as I ordered my breakfast. I reached down to see just how much stretch my belt had left in it and sadly decided it best to decline this time. My delicious ham and cheese omelette, however, somehow managed to squeeze in without any "adjustments". Whew, that was close! I skipped lunch, so where are we going for dinner?!?!

Awesome Fish & Chips, a Pub favorite with regulars, and an order of tasty Garlic Parmesan Wings. This combined with fast and friendly service by Brian gave us a delightful dining experience. Everything was delicious right down to the veggies and coleslaw!

A co-worker first introduced me to this place 20 years ago. The building is a registered National Landmark and has an absolutely amazing interior design. Enjoy a nice variety of menu options served up by a friendly staff. This restaurant is owned and operated by the same great folks at N3 Tap House and, for those of us who fondly remember, the former Southside Johnny’s.

Just a few doors down from the bakery we found some great deals at this cool discount grocery store. It is well stocked and organized by a friendly management and staff. It's definitely worth your time stopping in.

Great burgers for lunch today. Rusty said his Colorado Bison Burger was awesome, as was my Green Pepper Pueblo Burger and both were cooked to perfection and served with a salad or seasoned house fries. Fast, friendly service in a beautiful setting. Discover more...
Tonight the gang, less a few that couldn’t make it, enjoyed some delicious German cuisine. My cashew encrusted chicken was delightful, though some in our party questioned whether I came for German food or Chinese. The next time I'll probably try the Rouladen. It looked wonderful, and those that chose it were very pleased. None of us had room for dessert, but there sure were some tempting ones making their way to nearby tables. The restaurant is warm and inviting with a pleasant and efficient staff. It was stop No. 29 on our Love Local Challenge.
We stopped in to say hello to Mike Boyle of THE RESTAURANT SHOW for another LIVE radio broadcast and a BOYLE LUNCH BUNCH special. It was broadcast directly from La Cava Cafe with some awesome lunch specials during the show for just $5 PLUS some great coupons for return visits to both the cafe and the restaurant for dinner.
Enjoy the all-you-can-eat buffet or order from the menu. Either way you’re sure to be pleased! It’s good to see Jim’s back in town, and though they are normally closed on Sundays they will be OPEN for Super Bowl 🏈 Sunday! For a genuine Chicago dining experience, stop in and say hello and let them know you heard about them on DiscoverCOS.com.
We just recently heard about this cool ice cream and coffee shop on 8th Street and just had to check it out. Everything we heard was 100% true (isn’t THAT refreshing?) from the cow walls and decor to the ringing of the cow bell when paying at the register to a big “moo” from the staff. My double Black Raspberry Pecan ice cream was a great choice! Good thing I knew about that moo thing ahead of time or perhaps I would have thought they were insinuating something!
The Kung Pao Chicken and Hot & Sour soup really hit the spot on this cold, wintry afternoon. Fast, friendly service with a beautiful mountain view and a nice patio for warmer days. They are located in Briargate at 9475 Briar Village Point. Discover more...
Another amazing dinner at one of our favorite hangouts! Kudos once again to Chef Carlos! Each bite of the Carne Asada steak was mouthwateringly delicious and seasoned to perfection! Happy Hour specials will go until 7:30pm tonight. What are YOU waiting for? Come on out to La Cava for an evening to remember! Maria, Johnny and the rest of the gang will take excellent care of you! Tonight was the first time I’ve ever tried Flan. Consider me an official Flan fan...it was awesome! Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow may never come! If it does, repeat the eat, drink, and be merry.
After skipping breakfast I decided to make a healthy choice for lunch today that will make my barber Lauren proud. I chose the “Get The Glow” juice which consists of apple, kale, beet, carrot, lemon, and ginger. Others ordered the Cashew Potato Soup which looks delicious and is very tempting, but I have dinner plans at La Cava Fine Mexican Cuisine tonight so the extra room is going to be very important, even with my stretchy belt!
Happy Friday! Fast, friendly, and attentive. There were about 50 in our party our last visit at this family-friendly restaurant with its beautiful decor. That probably explains how I missed the unique wood carvings at every booth last time, each one seeming to have a story to tell. The complementary chips come with a very tasty salsa as well as warm retried beans for dipping, which reminds me...don’t forget dipping etiquette dictates that each chip should only enter the dip ONE time. In other words, no double dipping! My beef Chimichanga combo was very good and the menu prices won’t blow your budget. Save room for dessert! I did. Churros on the way! 😋
A @dragonfly.paddleyoga class in session with Christine at the awesome Pikes Peak Athletics indoor pool. Water YOU waiting for? I'm thinking this just might be a fun outing for our DiscoverCOS team to participate in one of these days. Outdoor sessions on one of several area lakes are an available option during the warmer months.
