The heat is on at Juniper Valley Ranch with their Thursday night hot and spicy chicken! I was wondering why it was so hazy in town today. This place has always been one our favorites. We hiked all the way to the top of the falls today. Be sure to opt for the trolley ride that takes you back and forth between the entrance gate and the base of the falls. It’s a pretty strenuous walk (for some) uphill through the canyon if you don’t, and definitely worth the extra $2. It’s also important to note that the FREE park and ride shuttle service to Seven Falls has been relocated to 1045 Lower Gold Camp Road. Remember, you can’t park directly AT the falls. A “gorge-us” day indeed. “Us” enjoying the day at the “gorge”. The Royal Gorge that is! Tip: Ride the gondola to the other side of the gorge FIRST, then walk downhill to the bridge. It’s much less strenuous than walking up the steep hill from the bridge to the gondola. The Royal Gorge Bridge spans 1,260 feet and is situated 1,053 above the Arkansas River, making it the highest suspension bridge in the United States. Discover more...
So worth the time when you’re in the Royal Gorge region.

An absolutely fantastic late lunch at this awesome Nordic cafe in Lincoln Center. Today I tried the Trondheim, a delightful blend of Jarlsberg cheese, chive crème fraiche, cucumber and watercress. I had planned to try the lingonberry gelatos, but Mara told me for a limited time they have Rocky Ford cantaloupe gelatos so that settled that decision right then and there. Oh my, it is to die for! Absolutely delicious! The lingonberry lemonade is wonderfully refreshing as well. Discover more...
