We hiked all the way to the top of the falls today. Be sure to opt for the trolley ride that takes you back and forth between the entrance gate and the base of the falls. It’s a pretty strenuous walk (for some) uphill through the canyon if you don’t, and definitely worth the extra $2. It’s also important to note that the FREE park and ride shuttle service to Seven Falls has been relocated to 1045 Lower Gold Camp Road. Remember, you can’t park directly AT the falls. A “gorge-us” day indeed. “Us” enjoying the day at the “gorge”. The Royal Gorge that is! Tip: Ride the gondola to the other side of the gorge FIRST, then walk downhill to the bridge. Today I tried the Trondheim, a delightful blend of Jarlsberg cheese, chive crème fraiche, cucumber and watercress.
