[69] Inspired by Hawaii, made in Colorado. The HULI HULI CHICKEN TACOS—peanut butter and miso marinated grilled chicken are usually served in three corn tortillas with napa cabbage, roasted corn & sweet mango salsa, but this time I chose to have mine in a bowl. The entrance to this place is in the back of the building, thus it being referred to as "your local taco hideaway".

1540 S. 21st St. Colorado Springs, CO 80904 719.633.7215 patsyscandies.com After reading some great reviews I decided to give this place a try for myself. The cafe offers some tasty European fare and much to my delight there was a great live band just getting ready to perform for the evening and a front row seat available at that! Pam was awesome and the band members were very friendly too, taking time to stop by the tables to introduce themselves and chat with the diners during their breaks. A very warm and cozy atmosphere inside and a nice patio for outdoor seating as well. The cafe is located between downtown and Old Colorado City on Colorado Avenue.
1015 Colorado Ave. Colorado Springs, CO 80904 719.632.6309 I found myself on the right side of the tracks this morning and feeling a bit patriotic with my delicious Red, White, and Blue Waffle topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries. It was so cool to see the steam rising in the air as I passed by the steam plant (aka "the cloud factory") and made my way across the railroad tracks on S. Sierra Madre . The sounds of passing trains definitely gave the place an urban vibe. What a great way start another beautiful morning! Discover more...

What's scandalous is that it's taken me this long to have my first smorbrod sandwich at this wonderful new Scandinavian cafe since their grand-opening in June. First let me say the place is squeaky clean. Brandie was awesome and very helpful with any questions I had about the unique menu options. She suggested the Lingonberry Lemonade (not on the menu) which I found very refreshing! For my first smorbrod I chose the Tampere, a delightful blend of chicken curry salad, almonds, watercress, and cucumber served open-face on a light rye bread. Everything was beautifully presented and very fresh and tasty! For dessert I chose the Smores, a large graham cracker with Nutella, and marshmallow. By now I was feeling a bit Nordic and imagining myself sitting by a campfire in beautiful Scandinavia! I'm really looking forward to my next visit here. Who's in? UPDATE: This restaurant is now "The Rozwell" (same owners) 2727 N. Cascade Ave. Colorado Springs, CO 80907 719.634.2727 smorbrod.com Met my ex for dinner tonight. There was a lot of catching up to do and we had fun reminiscing about times gone by. We always enjoyed dining on the creek side patio at Amanda’s Fonda on the west side so we decided to meet here again and I’m happy to say that it was love at first sight all over again! I think we both felt that spark as we shared a basket of chips and salsa, and then out came our meals looking just as fresh and wonderful as before, smothered with hot bubbly cheese next to a side of rice. Each bite reminded us of the passion we shared for this place and so we didn’t stop there...we had dessert! Dining with the work wife was always nice, but something about dinner with the ex-work wife, well, that was special. Thanks honey, see you in October. Discover more...
