Clean, friendly, and comfortable with generous portions of possibly the best tasting Orange Chicken I’ve ever had. We arrived just as they reopened after their short break between lunch and dinner so the place was empty, but it wasn’t long before some regulars started wandering in. Most Orange Chicken I’ve had is a bit too sweet or too tart. This was just right! We look forward to returning and trying some other favorites spotted on the menu.
Rocco's has been a Colorado Springs favorite since 1982. A house specialty is the Pasti (Cannoli), Italian sausage or meatballs (or both) with Italian cheese and Ortega peppers, rolled in dough and baked to a golden perfection and served with a delightful red sauce. A delicious garden salad with half house/half ranch dressing (recommended by my awesome server Cristina), was served along with a fresh loaf of bread and real butter, hot out of the oven. An additional carafe full of my favorite beverage made refills fast and easy, and the Italian music playing in the background added to the ambiance. Like many Italian restaurants, Rocco's is closed on Mondays.
After hearing about this place several times from a friend of mine, and finding myself hungry for some good tasting BBQ, I decided to stop in and give them a try. My two-meat, two side selection included Burnt Ends, Hot Links, fries and some really awesome baked beans. The folks were friendly and the service excellent. Even after loosening my belt a notch I found myself too full to finish my meal. Next time I'll bring a friend or two to help!
